Using Zoom Webinar to Drive Global Healthcare Innovation with MDC

Setting the PACE

PACE is a UK-based initiative addressing Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), an urgent global threat with an estimated 10 million AMR-related deaths anticipated by 2025 if left unchecked. PACE supports researchers and scientists with funding, expertise, and resources to drive innovative drug discovery and diagnostic projects in the fight against AMR.

A collaboration among three leading UK health organisations—LifeArc, Innovate UK, and Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC)—PACE benefits from MDC’s role as a national innovation centre focused on patient-centric drug discovery. BeThere Global, having collaborated with MDC on prior projects, was invited to support PACE in executing their 2024 events.

2024 call for proposals

In 2024, PACE launched a global funding call to attract diagnostic innovators, kicking off with an informational webinar to outline the application process, eligibility, and answer applicant questions. Although PACE operates from the UK, its ambition is global, making online accessibility essential. Based on previous successful virtual events with MDC, BeThere Global provided a Zoom Webinar solution for this launch.

We recommended Zoom Webinar as a cost-effective, reliable, and user-friendly platform that met the event’s format and objectives. The session included a 30-minute presentation on the application process followed by a 30-minute Q&A, where the text-based Q&A feature specific to Zoom Webinar, allowed for efficient question management among the 180+ participants.
